Feature: Dennis Lin's New Installation

We invite you to stop by and check out Dennis Lin’s newest installation titled "9610 +/- linear feet – mahogany" located on our second floor.

This piece is comprised of hundreds of layers of thin mahogany veneers he has used from reclaimed wood that are stacked in a sequence that resemble geological striations found in the earth’s crust. This startlingly beautiful piece floats off the wall as if suspended in space and invites the viewer to examine its construction in much closer detail. Lin to date has been working with wood extensively, instilling a sophisticated design aesthetic into his use of natural materials. His work, as a result, retains the warmth of the organic with the controlled suggestion of human deliberation. Lin’s work quite clearly combines both of his inspirations: the contemporary design inspired conversion of natural materials, and the preservation of the inherent material qualities of the works’ original sources. This work continues his experimentation with new materials and processes.
